We are Massag a.s.
Company was founded by Viennese businessman Mathias Salcher already in 1828, however name Massag late famous all over the world got in 1856. Company rised to fame by buttons production which became renowned mainly in the U.S.A.
Nationalization in 1945 was an important milestone in existence of Massag when company started to work under national organization Koh-i-noor Praha control. Plant in Bílovec overtook name Koh-i-noor, but trade mark Massag was maintained. Living contemporaries must remember that ski bindings or typing pens belonged to typical articles. Metal working and pressing have been principle elements of production.
When in the second half of last century automotive industry started to develop (namely in Mladá boleslav) company started to engage in this business as well – pressed and assembled car components (e.g. mirrors and ashtrays in Škoda Favorit cars were originated in Massag).
Nowadays Massag has three main business units: the first one is as we say classic. This is a part Mr.Salcher started with – production of hundreds kinds of small metal parts especially for leather and textile industry. From shoe eyelets, trouser hooks, watch buckles to special spiral hooks for child swing fixing – that all is being produced by classic business unit.
Another business unit is surface finishing area. Company Massag provides with galvanic zinc plating, nickel plating, copper plating, galvanic alloy zinc plating with nickel, wet painting for its own products and for external customers as well.
The third area we are doing business in is handling equipment production. We produce wide range of handling equipment from small garden trolleys to special movable rollcages for store chains and distribution logistic centers, heavy pallets for engineering, etc.
In all above mentioned areas we offer except production also development and consulting.
